The 2010 Argus Pick 'n Pay Cycle Race

The race this year will take place on:

Sunday 14 March 2010

The 2009 Cape Argus Pick 'n Pay Cycle Race took place on the 8th March.  The race started in head winds of 55 knots and was one of the most difficult races of this event. This is the 32nd year of this race, that started in the City of Cape Town, around the Cape Peninsula and finishes in Green Point.  It's a non profit event that raises funds for many charities.

This cycle race draws around 35,000 cyclists, from South Africa and around the world and is the largest timed sporting event. The route is 109km, where cyclists enjoy the most beautiful scenery in the world. Spectators line the route and spend the day giving their support and encouragement to the participants, bringing a festive feeling to the event.

Congratulations to Jennie Stennehag for winning the women's event and to Arron Brown, who won the men's event, in a close finish, when he came in first, seconds before last years winner, Robbie Hunter.
