Friends of Lion's Head

lionshead2We are a conservation group working closely with the Table Mountain National Park Authorities and NGO groups including the Table Mountain Forum and the Wildlife Society. Our aim is to help people to enjoy activities on Signal Hill and Lion's Head while striving to preserve it as a natural area containing indigenous vegetation. Man should be allowed to enjoy the natural area, but his intrusion should be kept to a minimum, and paths should be well maintained and clearly marked.

We would like you to participate
— meet us for regular walks on the mountain
— join us in eradicating alien vegetation
— hear about the history of the Cape

Visitors to Cape Town are very welcome to attend all our activities

Please visit the Friends of Lion's Head website to find out more details.

maskDue to the development and upgrade of the Green Point Common, the Flea Market has been moved to the parking area behind the The Atlantic Green Point Bowling Club.

The Flea Market was located at the old Green Point Stadium and was the largest Flea Market in Cape Town.  Once the new Urban Park on the Common is completed the market will move back to this area.

The Market is open every Sunday from 8:30am - 17:00pm.  The Market is a popular destination for locals and tourists, where one can find traditional African art, clothes, craft, food stalls and a variety of products.
